GRIEG SEAFOOD BC LTD SHOWCASED IN SUNSHINE COAST MAGAZINE

Grieg Seafood BC is featured in a recent edition of "Just Business" magazine, which showcases businesses on BC's Sunshine Coast. The article highlights Grieg's eight Sunshine Coast salmon farms which produce Atlantic, Chinook and Coho salmon.

With worldwide consumption of seafood outgrowing availability, the article states that salmon farming offers "an economic and pragmatic option to supplying protein for our consumption." Regarding the strict regulatory requirements of the Canadian industry, Mia Parker, Grieg's Manager of Regulatory Affairs, says that "Canada's high regulatory standards contribute to a higher cost of production, and yet Canada outperforms other countries in terms of efficiencies and environmental management. The higher costs are offset by the demand for our high-quality, healthy fish."

Grieg focuses on community and sources through local vendors and suppliers. "It only makes sense. It's good corporate citizenship," says Parker. "We’re in this for the long term, creating sustainable opportunities for everyone."
