Hatcheries
Working at a hatchery involves tending and ensuring the health of salmon during the earliest stages of their development. A love of the outdoors and an interest in animal care are common characteristics of people who work at both hatcheries and farm sites.

Processing Plants
Processing plants are industrial facilities where freshly harvested fish are prepared for sale either as raw fish or in various value-added product forms. Workers are assigned to various stages of the production process. Specific individuals are also responsible for ensuring the plant meets all government standards. In addition, many plants now do secondary processing, including filleting, steaking, smoking, canning and specialty packaging.
